there is One GodWe believe that there is only one God who created the heavens and the Earth. God revealed Himself as our Father, in His Son Jesus Christ, and as the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is God manifested in flesh, and in Him, dwells the fullness of the Godhead bodily (Deuteronomy 6:4;Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 2:9; I Timothy 3:16).

Baptism in jesus' nameWe believe in water baptism by immersion in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins (Romans 6:3-6; Acts 2:38).
The gift of the holy ghostWe believe in receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues (Acts 2:38, Acts 2:4, Acts 8:14-17).

We believe the plan of Salvation (repentance, baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost) helps us live a life pleasing to God and is a necessary part of our walk with Him (Acts 2:38, Acts 4:12, Romans 3:23-25).

Desoto life kidzDesoto Life Kidz is dedicated to “Connecting Kidz To Christ.” Every Sunday and Wednesday, we learn about God and His love through songs, games, and crafts. Look at our events calendar for our extra activities like Fall fests, bowling nights, and family days at the park! |

Revolution YouthRevolution Youth is a place for students to grow and connect to the kingdom of God while navigating the obstacles of an ever changing world without bowing to peer pressure and teen culture.

other ministriesDesoto Life has something for the whole family including Connect Groups each Wednesday night at 7:00pm, an adult Sunday School class, and quarterly Family Day activities. We also offer individual or small group Bible Studies to those who are interested.

Pastor
Shannon & Whitni ThornhillPastor Shannon felt a call to the ministry in his teens and has since served in many roles of ministry including the following: assistant pastor, evangelist, and pastor. He felt the call to church planting and set out to build a church in Hernando, MS along with his wife Whitni. Whitni has a passion for teaching and music and received her bachelor's degree in music from Texas Bible College. Along with her role as pastor's wife, she teaches middle school at DeSoto Christian Academy. Together they have five beautiful children, Blakely, Wesson, Skylar, Holland, and Lawson.

Assistant Pastor
Eric & Teresa MayEric serves in many roles at DeSoto Life. His excellent teaching can be heard at Wednesday night Bible studies and adult Sunday school class. He is heavily involved in the music ministry and you won't ever catch him without a smile or a joke! He serves alongside his wife Teresa. Teresa is a manager at Sam's Club and decorates for DeSoto Life events. She is known for her authentic mexican cooking. Eric and Teresa gladly serve DeSoto Life with their three children Eric JR., Marcia, and Marisol.

Brianna NorrisBrianna passionately serves as leader of DeSoto Life Kidz. She is known for her exciting lessons and unique experiments. You never know what you'll do or see in her class! She also serves as interpreter of the deaf at Lewisburg schools. Brianna is never seen without her dog and sidekick Sparkles.

Revolution Youth
Zach & Lauren BarnettZach and Lauren currently serve as youth leaders for Revolution Youth here at DeSoto Life. Lauren is a finance manager with a bachelor's in finance from Ole Miss University. Zach is a metal fabricator for pressure vessels. In their free time, Lauren and Zach like to spend time outside with their two puppies Nala and Zeus.

Hospitality/Outreach
Art & Christine DunlapArt and Christine serve as leaders of hospitality and outreach. Christine is a licensed massage therapist at a day spa in Olive Branch. Art works at Byhalia Volunteer Fire Department as the full-time fire chief, as well as, part-time for Life Guard Ambulance as an EMT. Their hobbies include motorcycle riding, trying different ethnic foods, grilling and cooking together, and traveling. They dream of traveling to North and South Dakota, Montana, and Wyoming to view more of God's handiwork.
